That's a lot of bs. Anyway, I popped into a best buy yesterday and they had a nice z10 display. However, NONE of the 3 tethered devices worked. The sales rep could not even power them up. This compared to ALL Samsung devices working at the Samsung display

We've got a problem here. How in the hell can a potential customer buy this device when they can't even take it for a test drive. This suggests that they are not selling beyond the folks who come in looking for one.

On a positive note, I saw my first bb10 device in the wild yesterday. A q10.

I have noticed the same thing. Very nice displays, but the units sit there dark or even not set up. It all stems from the lack of interest by the Best Buy sales team. I've tried standing around the BlackBerry display at my local Best Buy a few times, and have yet to be approached. If I wander over to the Samsung devices, on the other hand....

Frankly, I think BlackBerry should consider having their own sales teams in stores to raise awareness. At the very least, BlackBerry needs to have their own people checking on these stores on a regular basis and offering whatever support is needed. The Best Buy sales force (understandably) doesn't want to spend time educating users about a new platform. Ultimately that's up to BlackBerry.

On the plus side, I also saw a Q10 in the wild this weekend.

I always feel like there should be a person demoing the phones along with the displays. There is a learning curve for folks who have not researched the BB10. My poor husband still struggles with my Z.

Easier said than done. This means money that Blackberry would have to pay to those teams and probably to the retailer to allow it. Not a bad idea though. Maybe they could hire some rabid Crackberry users to be "volunteer" sales team to save some money

In Best Buy in Markham Ontario. I used to fix up the Playbook display models every time I went there. Switch them on, get the Home screen up. They never ever had wifi connected.

Does not really matter since all the potential customer would find is the supercrappy demo mode.

Yeah I see that all the time. Most of the time I go the local T-mobile store here the store attendant always ask me for advice on the BlackBerry Z10. Apparently he gets a lot of questions on it but yet I don't see many people coming out with one lol

It is the South Bay mall location. Man, at least have the Damn phones powered on. If t mobile is that bad, I'd hate to see what the other carriers are like. Part of why I just switched to t mobile is because they seem to be doing the best job supporting these devices.

A Best Buy in my area had one working demo and the other was dead. I figured out that the issue was the usb cable/port was messed up and once the cable was held in the port a certain way, the led came on. I notified the employee helping my wife but he just said that happens to demo units and that was that. So it could simply be due to abuse of the demo units and not caring to fix/replace them (or even notifying management)
