Let's settle it here right now in this post! So many comparisons and its time we solve it.. Place your vote! Whats the best blackberry ever (if you don't see a certain choice here feel free to add one)

Me personally I'm going with the 99xx with the 9000 right behind it. It's the fastest with the best keyboard, plus touchscreen. The design is an A+ it even FEELS like the best BB.

I chose the 9000, and I'll tell you why.

Without the 9000, where do you think our beloved BB devices would be right now? The 9000 ushered in the current style of device that we have grown to love so much. The huge keyboard, the silver ring around the entire device, the iconic leather Bold backing. It was a huge departure from anything that RIM had put out up until that time yet kept the familiar parts that we had frown to love, and it laid the ground work for the devices that we all love to this day. Sure, upon first glance at the poll I thought "99XX for sure, no question" but without the 9000, I don't think we would have the 99XX series devices.

Second I would've chosen the Curve 83XX series for no other reason other than it was HUGELY popular, and is likely a main reason why BB held the huge market share that it did after its launch. Tons of people had that device, I had that device, my buddy had that device, and I STILL see people using that device. It was fantastic, reasonably priced, and allowed millions of people the opportunity to enter the smartphone market. Nice poll, really makes you think...

9000. Luxury keyboard, great design and the last BB IMO to have excellent build quality.

The 9000 is my favorite BB of all time and second favorite smartphone ever. If RIM refreshed the 9000 with the same exact design but up to date specs, I would buy it opening day just like I did with the 9000.

Isn't that what they did with the 99XX series? I mean, it's not exactly the same, some small differences, but...

The 9900 feels nothing like the 9000. IMO the 9900 feels cheaper (IMO all BBs after the 9000 have felt cheap overall), and the size of the 9000 is really what makes it shine. The keyboard on the 9000 also feels different than the 9900. The 9000 keyboard felt nicer and smoother, the 9900 feels too "clicky".

This is just my opinion though. The 9900 is a very nice device, I just prefer the style and feel of the 9000 more.

Fair enough. I was never able to have a 9000 myself, I've always been on CDMA carriers, but that was always my favorite BB. When my buddy got one, I was so jealous... Such an awesome device... It didn't take me long to get my 9930 after launch... Had to have that form factor.

Yea I was on AT&T at the time so it worked out well.

When I think of BlackBerry Bold, the 9000 is what always comes to my mind first not just because it was my favorite, but because it is what started it all. Now many great Bolds have come after it (specifically the 99xx series, I wasn't a fan of the 97xx series due to bad experiences with 5 of them).

The 9000 really set itself a part from the rest of the pack. The first BB to really have all the bells and whistles from the start, no refresh required.

Couldn't have said it better myself. No need for a 9010 or something...

For me to date and for MY needs and wants it's my current 9860. This is my favorite of any BB i've owned and after 3 months i'm still in love. Aside from that, going back a few years, it would be my Curve 8310. Man, you couldn't kill that thing.

Wow someone said the Style I went through a few of them myself and loved the form factor, but it was just too under powered for my usage.

There are days that I miss my Style, but loving the Bold 9930

For me there is no debate on this. The Pearl 8100 is / was the single best device BlackBerry
ever released. There has never been a keyboard as good or better and SureType was a joy
    to work with.

    I'm gonna say the 8330.
It was the first Blackberry I ever liked.
I never owned it, but my mother had it (she had the pearl before it & I didn't like that one) & I was always playing with it lol.
I had the Moto Q at the time & was always so jealous because her 8330 keyboard felt so much better than my old Moto Q's lol.

I'd say the 9930/9900 would be my second favorite.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed the 8220
I was hoping to try the style, but it never came to Rogers.

I would say the 9810 is my favourite because that is the one I lust after the most. I'm rocking the 9000 now though until I upgrade. The 9000 is iconic, but it can't keep up with me, I push it too hard and have to pull the battery and uninstall stuff all the time.

historically, speaking about business phones: the 72xx, specifically the 7290 is the best blackberry ever.

folliwed closely by the 87xx and th 88xx, the 83xx snd the bold 9k.

good you said "imo" as this is not very objective ;p
    (but who isn't O )

I had two 9000 and the org. Bold is obvisously a great device but it had it's flaws. And some of them are fixed with the 9900/9930 (I don't consider the '81 as Bold, perhaps berbold xD would never buy or use such a u*** device )

The plastic silver ring, the color easily broke of and it was then really ugly.
    >>> fixed, now it is real metal which feels really nice!

My 9000 all had a much to easy going back door (I mean there was a little play, one of the two the back door could fall of as the mechanism was damaged very soon)
    >>> fixed, now I only can open the back door with a credit card or other help as it is so
hard to open (I started a thread about it month ago and it got a few thousend
hits so it is indeed an issue for some people )

Even I don't care about the "thiniest device" etc. and would have wished the 99xx had a bigger battery and not the camera issue... the 9900/9930 are fine devices and I can put it easier in my front pocked when I'm wearing a Jeans etc.

The 9000 had the best keyboard I ever used, till I first tried the 9900. Now it is only the second best keyboard ever was built

The curveball was a lot better than the wheel!

But it also was a big issue with all ball-devices.

I could replace or clean the ball on my 8300 very easily but on the 8900 and 9000 RIM did a lot wrong. Replacing it on these was a lot more tricky.

The touchpad is a lot better in use and can't get dirty (and stop working because of it: my reason for replacing the 9000 with the 9900)

Tochscreen and resolution beating the 9000 as well by a lot.

    The better browser as well.

Battery life: 9000 beating the 9900 in using 2G but sucked in 3G (I got one day with 3G) but after a longer way with the 9900 I got lucky and figured it out to get the 9900 to 1.5 to almost 3 days (but there I really didn't used it, just idle/wifi active add to the 3G network)

Sadly, with the BB browser (when used as MiniO was standard ) I could hide me as ie or ff - which I'm still missing on the OS 7

At the end: I would never had replaced my 9000 by a 9700 or 9780, not even the later released 9790.

It only could have been THE real BOLD successer, the 9900!
