Tmobile, 4 lines, 3 unlimited and 1 just talk and text: $287 plus.....not that cheap.

    Virgin Mobile is my suggestion.

5 phones, 2 of which are smartphones... $205/mo is actually pretty good.

Don't know how you feel about Sprint for your coverage area but check out their web page. Unlimited data, talk and text for $79 + $19.99 for each additional line you activate.

If you change carriers, then you need to buy new phones.

I can relate, I was also with the big red vampire. Sounds like we both had similar phones and the same plan, one blackberry, one iTurd and one LG touch. Two with unlimited text and the 700 minute plan was about 170.00 monthly. I am not sure where you are located, but I switched to US Cellular and I am saving almost 400.00 annually, for better customer service and reception.

    Sprint or T-Mobile.

Also check to see if you can get discounts: AAA, employer etc.

I have Sprint, but the coverage isn't great and the data speeds are very slow. However, this varies depending on where you live.
