Today' news by BB marketing chief, Seems like Oct 18th is the date for BBM release

Boulben said the company already has 6 million Android and iPhone customers pre-registered for the launch of its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service.

He said he expects the BBM to launch on both those platforms "within days," adding that the company is confident that it fixed issues that arose after the initial cross-platform launch of the messaging service last month.

"Within days" could be: "within 5 days" or "within 720 days" for all you know. I am not getting my hopes up, although I wish the promise will be kept. Plus this comes from the same guy who spent loads of money on Super Bowl ad for naught.

within days mean less than 14 days otherwise you have to say weeks. It would be improper English to say within days if you meant more than 13 days.

I remember Saunders once saying he has his name linked to Google updates which go to him.
If BlackBerry hasn't thought of this already please pass it forward....when users from iOS or Android register using their old bbid please make sure everyone on their list gets emailed advising xxxx has registered for bbm available on Apple and Google Devices with links for them to also download. I want this thing to be a bloody hit to shut up my friends.
