My BBM app just sits there

The only BBM contacts I have use BlackBerry's and that's not many people. When I ask my friends on iPhone and Android to download it laugh at me.

Don't know. As far as I know, BB no longer reports the active user numbers. The implication of that is clear.

Tell them to do this trial: Make a call through BBM ( using wifi ) and compare that incredible clear crystal and simultaneous quality call against WA or any other. They will be silent wondering how is this possible :-)

One of the big issues BBM has is how badly it was rolled out cross platform. I got several people to download it when it first came out to iOS and Android and it was a disaster. From not being able to sign up to messages not being sent to receiving them hours later, pretty much everyone just got rid of it.

They gave it a chance but it was so bad they rightfully got rid of it and there is no way they'd download it again.

Or they can download google hangouts. use it it on a pc or mac, iphone or Android phone and have excellent wifi calling (or even have a video chat if the hardware is compatible).

Or they can use any one of a dozen other apps that do the same thing. There is no shortage of them and competition is fierce.

BBM uses amr-wb and wa uses opus. Opus is better than amr-wb. That said, most people will be able to tell that they are both better than toll quality but can't discern the difference between the two.

No doubt in my mind BBM is a great messaging app. Problem is - ANYTHING BlackBerry is a non-starter for most people these days.

There have been rumors of something called "stickers" coming to BBM that will bring It back to mainstream.

You should create a BBM channel to display your sarcastic humour. I'm sure that will bring the users back in the millions.
