Just received a survey from BlackBerry Beta Zone regarding Link 1.2

They are asking what we would like to see in the next iteration of Link and there are a loot of goodies there. The options they suggest are:

    -Selective Backup (finally)!
    -SMS integration (!)
    -BBM integration (!!)
    -Hub Integration (!!!)
    -BlackBerry World integration

They are working hard to improve Link and develop the idea of "bridge" that they have introduced with the PlayBook.

Due to the software focus that Chen is introducing in the company I can see a lot of great features coming (probably this is not yet his influence but anyway!!)

Looking forward to the new Link software

Not on the list, but I would like to see a "wireless print" feature added to Link. Shouldn't be that hard. The printer drivers would be on the computer where Link is installed.
donmateo and Bor Navas like this.

    You missed the last question:
Choose which one is the top priority

    I said other:
'Make it work and work well. To date, Link does not work well.'

    Where's "All of the Above?"
It is multiple choice and i select ALL of them but then they ask to help them prioritize one of the above....

Selected all but hub integration and sms integration.

Selected selective back up and restore in the prioritize question.

This is amazing! I was so happy to see all the features asked about, just goes to show they are thinking about it and planning on releasing a "bridge" feature from our phones to BB Link!!

Would this allow for handset to overwrite computer? Really there should be three options to pick... handset overwrite, computer overwrite or do nothing when phone is connected.

It is one of the natural evolutions of the "Bridge Concept" and also of what Thorsten said about dummy tablets (words that probably have been misinterpreted). I really think this has to be the direction where BlackBerry needs to go..

The other Bridge that I hope we will see soon is in the automobile applications.. How useful and cool would be to have all the functions from the mobile handset bridged to the car?

It is all really exciting but what they need to do now is executing and executing FAST! Hopefully Mr. Chen seems the right guy who will not let this opportunity fade way. Fingers crossed......

This is what I've been most excited about when I first heard about BlackBerry Fuse and Chat blend. Hopefully this doesn't preclude development of a dedicated BBM application for desktops as well for non BlackBerry users.

I got this as well - I selected all the above however personally I thought the BlackBerry World integration as the priority due to its relevance (comparing to iTunes where one desktop application is the sole portal for BlackBerry users)

Although the Hub/BBM integration could be released at the same time no?

Ported android apps to be in the backups would be really nice.

Also to just speed up BlackBerry Link.

I can for see bbmx getting this too, via blue tooth or wifi. It will have to be a standalone app however.

Just imagine one day we wake up to a brand new link that works flawless as can be. It restores faster then ever before.

    Ahh. Those days smell great!
