Most, if not all of these are fake.
How would one find the genuine BBM?

Not most - they're all fake :)

It appears as if some are flooding the store with fakes to dispirit those who want the app, almost.
or taking advantage of BlackBerrys ability to execute.
These fake apps aren't new, we have known they have been there for a while, so why didn't BlackBerry sort this out prior to launch day with google and file loads of takedown orders?
Obviously would help if they had their own one out there too lol.
The more relevant concern is how easy it was for all this dubious spam to flow through the wide open sluice gates of Play Store.

I doubt you'll hear BBRY pointing it out. BBRY pays for the spam in its store
The picture in the OP scares me. I thought it had launched and tried to download on two of my colleagues phones and what I saw was plainly irritating. I hope Google cleans up this mess or BlackBerry forces them to do it

Absolutely. It's not as bad though, and you don't get children's apps linking to sex adverts as you do in Google's shop.

really? the relevant concern isn't `well there are all these fake apps that go up right away when the dev posts them, but for BlackBerry they cant even do that`. Seriously the spam apps are a problem, but that's not news today, they have been there a few days and BlackBerry should of been all over it. obiously having your own app that's way way late doesn't help as consumers go there looking for BBM and just see the spam.
What app is this? We should get that adjusted.
This is sickening
This is why I stick with apps that have the top developer and editor's choice distinctions.
Looks like BlackBerry servers may be getting murdered.

That's BBM on my z10 currently. Never seen that before.
I suspect that spam in Google's shop is a Google issue

yeah - took me a little while to get set-up on my android and add my sole contact.
Many many apps. The links are near clickable buttons. It is designed to get you to get the paid version.

the spam is googles issue, the copyright and trademark violations are BlackBerrys issue, they have to deal with that themselves, be it through the store or through the developer, that's one for BlackBerrys lawyers to issue stuff over as its BlackBerrys stuff that's being misused.
According to Wikipedia Google play has 1 million + apps as of July 2013. This makes you wonder how many of those apps are spam apps used to pad their numbers.

What is Wiki reporting for BBW?
I guarantee you that few people using Android can tell you how many apps are in the Play Store. They don't care.
What they can tell you is whatever is not they have access to apps that ensure their devices are add functional as possible.
This could easily be fixed bbry can offer the apk on their website as androids can install from apks or websites but they dont
rumors are they are having server issues with pins
Lollll of course they are having server issues I don't expect anything less man
Its blackberry!

All those who need bbm must just buy a blackberry FULL STOP
I don't think that BBM has been enogh of a sales incentive on its own.
The one made by "BlackBerry Limited"....but it's not there yet
