    Is BBM for desktop plan b?

    Originally, the plan seemed to be for one's phone to be the entire desktop. Put your phone down on the sweet spot and the monitor fills with a desktop version of bb10.

    It seems to me that spending the resources on working on streaming an app to another desktop os is BlackBerry thinking the original vision is never going to happen.

    No, I don't think that they initially meant for there to be a full desktop version of QNX, but rather important features of BB10 running on top of Windows/Mac, with BBM being the start.

    I hope SMS follows, and then BB10 email client (like on the PlayBook). BB10 contacts would be brilliant, as well as mouse control.

    This is just an extension Mobile Computing, and an attempt at making BBM a cross platform application (sort of). Not sure why you need a device to make it work, would have been better in my mind to assign LINK it's own pin and allow it to function as a BBM/SMS "device".
