You want the future.... who knows. But if you have ever used SIRI and noticed how it improves year, after year.... might be a point where she can replace both apps and the browser. Let's just hope she doesn't decide to replace all of us too..

If however Android phones are profitable enough, BlackBerry will support both OSes.
Why would BB take profits (of which, there still haven't been any, even from the Priv) and pour them into BB10, which has already failed in the market? If there wasn't enough market to support BB10 back when it was BB's primary product, how is it going to be big enough now, when BB is actively selling Android devices to these same "high security" customers? Because they are, you know.

BB10 hasn't had any significant development since 2014. There are only a handful of people left at BB who know it - the BB10 team is gone. How are they suddenly going to make new devices in 2017 or 2018? The answer is: they aren't. Everyone can see that but a few folks with their heads in the sand.

BB10 team is gone? So they bought QNX and retrenched all of them?

If Web Apps are the 'future', how come BB10's interface is so clunky in this regard?

    - limit to 8 running apps.

    - No development on the native Web browser. This includes performance and security updates.

    - Poor scores in HTML 5 tests, when compared to other browsers like Chrome.

    - Web Browser tabs only exist in the browser. In Chrome for Android, you can have Web site tabs exist in the app switcher.

There have been three big rounds of layoffs since Chen came on board... mostly in the hardware division. There was also reallocation of mainly BB10 "developers" to Android last summer . Based on the point that BB10 was when it was removed from the testing servers and where it seems to be now... many joke there is one part time guy working on BB10.

QNX was bought for their code... not for them to build BB10. I'm sure that there were many experts from QNX used to help build BB10, but for the most part QNX went on about their business of building their automotive offerings and other embedded software offerings.

But yes the team is gone... 10.3.1 was leaked the summer of 2014 just before the Passport was launched. It's clear there was a slowdown in development at that point. From the time that 10.3.2 was released to the last few official releases... there has hardly been any work done to the code. And some worry based on the bugs and the time it has taken BlackBerry to respond to those bugs... that it's possible that they don't have the capacity to code, test and release a viable update anymore. Even a full capacity BlackBerry had problems with a fix here broke something else there....

Well as a web developer Chrome is pretty well respected is often the gold standard in HTML5 support so a lot of the newer stuff is tested on Chrome.

Say what you will about Google, but chrome is a really good browser. It has the best HTML5 scores on both desktop and mobile and also has a very good javascript engine.

I'll say what I will. My brother who's using an android since like the dawn of time (I'm just being dramatic), hated it! He prefers UCbrowser instead. But to each their own, of course.

Funny...I hear so many posts saying people left BlackBerry for apps. I'll be leaving BlackBerry because they choose to bow to Android and drop the OS that works. BlackBerry isn't a hardware company so the move to start making subpar phones for a subpar OS is mind-boggling.

Still rockin the  Z30 and lovin it! BB10 still king!
