I checked out verizon's Z10 pre-order page today. and one of the features they advertised about BB10 is that it has 70,000 app's and counting...
I remember it being mentioned a number on times that BlackBerry has been adding 1,000 app's daily since launch.
shouldn't we be at over 100,000 by now?
If we are at over a 100k. I think its a big oversight by the marketing team. It is a huge difference to announce "over 100,000"... as opposed to 70k.

Sounds like you're grasping for straws. Anything after 70,000 is clearly covered by the "And Counting" part don't cha think.

yes i know "and counting" includes 100k and even 200k...
I am talking from a marketing perspective. BB is into major marketing right now, and I feel this is an oversight by them to have the biggest carrier in the US "advertise" they only got 70k app's... especially since they have been beaten up over the lack of app's the past # of years...

the last "official" was the 70k i think. I have heard in interviews and statements here and there about having 100k but never in writing or press release.

Or maybe BlackBerry used 70k bc they knew they would reach that mark on US launch. Do we have a way to actually see the number of apps in the store on Feb 5th?

I think Z10 users shouldn't support sideloading Android Apps. Be patient and wait. Stick to BB World to keep it spinning.

Even if Z10 users use side loaded we need to constantly bombard devs with requests for native apps. This may get some movement.

They probably just copied the launch info BB gave out which was 70k, I'm sure there are much more right now.

There were over 30000 apps done in the portathons in the two weekends before launch, and I don't think they were counted, because they were still in the app approvals stage weeks afterward. I'd love to know how many apps are actually there.

Of course, the "number of apps" thing is a bit spurious anyway. For example, Apple quotes over 700000 apps in the App Store. Here in South Africa, there are way fewer than that available, because Apple has no games whatsoever in the South African store.
