Stock took and insignificant dip at 13:10 but it will close higher. I didn't expect this. This is good news.

Chen needs to bring out the big guns on 9/24 or...

That says a lot. Why was the stock not affected? Apple and BlackBerry no more direct competitors. John Chen's focus on security and enterprise seems to be paying dividends.

I don't see the relation there. How is one brand launching of a phone affect another? I doubt the ups and down of Windows, Samsungs or Sony's stocks today has anything to do with the launch of Iphone6.

Stocks could have dipped for other reasons, doesn't have to be Apple related

Blackberry has but all left the consumer market and handset revenue is becoming a smaller part of the revenue mix so whether Iphone 6 does well or extremely well has little to do with BBRY. It wasn't like Apple announced their IBM partnership resulted in X number of Fortune 500 companies going full Apple. That might affect the stock.

I guess you all are correct. However, I was thinking in terms of the Z3.

The iphone 6 @ $199/ 2 year contract. If the z3 is priced in this ballpark, it might be dead in the water at announcement.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Iphone 4/4S is the Apple phone Z3 competes with in the emerging markets not the 5/6 series.

The iphone 6 no longer competes with BlackBerry. Apple has taken the BlackBerry users that wobbled so to speak. Android took more. Apple will sell a ton of iphone 6 devices to all the tons of iphone 4 and 5 users.

Sorry guys but I am a BlackBerry user and when speaking to other BlackBerry users in business they get very interested in consumer products. One guy today was considering switching to iPhone 6 from BlackBerry 10 due to wallet.
    BlackBerry needs to market?!

For the prices they asking for a 4.7 inch display at slightly higher than 720p and only 16gb non expandable men. Better have your organs in top notch condition. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Apple...t-and-T-Mobile

Actually BlackBerry went up and Apple dropped. The iphone 6 will sell to current users but Apple simply didn't do enough for the resources they have.

I'm guessing you are referring to the Passport and not the low-cost Z3.

The stock didn't fall bc apple didn't mention anything more about the IBM deal. No one looks at blackberry and apple as competitors to be frank. The iPhone could have the ability to crap gold and I would imagine the Bbry stock would be unaffected. Even the health care deal apple has with the mayo clinic, it seems to be consumer centric around smartphones capturing your daily biometrics but it could be intruding on the nanthealth deal soon. Blackberry has the better international play for the time being when it comes to regulatory industries.
