    Hey all,

I have a BB Bold 9900 with the leaked 7.1 OS version 7.1.0.74. I was just playing around on my options screen, when I decided to go in to about device versions.

1st page: you see your software version etc.
    2nd page: Java
    3rd page: Nuance and VSuite
    4rd page: Acknowledgements Qualcomm
5th page: Acknowledgements Android Open Source Project
    6th page: Acknowledgements BB maps

    I understand why page 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are mentioned.
But what about that 5th page? Does OS 7.1 include some software from android?
Is this for possible android apps going to be available in app world for 7.1? Or is it something completely different?

Sorry if this was mentioned before.

    cheers

Haha. I have noticed this with OpenSourceBB.

I believe RIM has some fonts that belong to Android. but that's just a guess. We really don't know.

I wish it was for Android Apps. That would be epic. Technically, the phone can run it.

It could have something to do with the support of a few Android apps for the playbook.
I took part in the BIF in Frankfurt, as they spoke of a future Android support.

Really hoped it was for apps. If BB7 was able to run Android Market and all the apps in it, BB would have gained a ton of more users, seriously.

The Android and open source thing has been there for a while. It may have even been on OS 6 devices.
