I searched and didn't find any useful info. I am a newbie with a newbie question. When I use bb maps and google maps gps the screen always turns off, I looked for and option to have it stay lit during gps on bbmaps/google and don't know how. Any suggestions.

You can go into BB Maps and go to options for it and change the setting for backlight timeout when <25% battery.

Another option is to download the free 3rd party app BBLight. It will allow you to keep the backlight on in any application.
