    Good afternoon.

BB Link absolutely refuses to recognize BB10 Passport SE over the CABLE.

It will, eventually, recognize it over wifi.

Naturally I want to do what so many others often give up on doing, backing up my contacts.

Naturally^2 this requires a USB connection since it will not do any form of backup over wifi.

The PC tells me that I have the most current version of software installed. My next step is to delete and re-install.

Also the Passport won't show in File Explorer.

    Thoughts?

    are you running windows 10???
I use windows 7 and works perfectly with my passport, also you need to disable the usb option in your PP, so BBLink will detect it.

Why don't you try using Blend. For me it's much more responsive and rapid for moving files, photos, music and videos from my PC / Mac to my P'9983 / Passport

I had the same issue with windows 10. I deleted all BlackBerry software from pc and re started it.
Then I connected my Passport to the pc and installed drivers.
    Then installed link again.
Connected the Passport with the USB cable that came with the device because I noticed some problems previously with other cables and it worked for me.

    I've gotten ahold of a Win7 PC.

Will BB Link recognize the Passport over USB?

    NO IT WON'T.

**** that stupid BB ********** that made it so damn difficult to connect over a damn wire.

    Wifi? Perfect.

Again **** that BB moron that won't allow contacts backed up over wifi.
