    In their own words, it wasn't even a POC let alone a demo, it was intended to show case other features - leaving that aside, a desktop msg app that needs you to plug your phone into the desktop is never going to fly. However let's say they end up on the desktop as well, you have to remove the block on persistence that BBM has - and BBRY either is technically incapable or doesn't want to do that for some other reason.
