My friend has the 8300, and it does on him often, before it dies there is radio interference, and then it gives out, from anywhere to 40-60% of battery left, then after a charge, it says there is only 15% and it takes a while to get to max. He has had it for a while, and the lil xxxx indicator area on the bottom of the battery is pretty much all pink. I switched it into my phone, same problem, so its not like hes just using to much power, or maybe the battery is old.

Should I tell him, buy a new battery, buy a bold, or what?

He should buy a Bold. At some point, he's going to be wanting one anyway. I will hopefully ber getting mine in a day or two.

That's the liquid damage indicator, if it's pink the device has water damage and he'll need at least a new battery, maybe a new device.
