Hi folks.....I have what will probably rank up there with the dumbest of questions, but here goes anyway....What are "battery pulls"? Why are they done? when should they be done?
Battery pull is just like the name implies, pull the battery out to do a hard reset on the phone.
And generally they only need to be done if you find there's a strange problem going on that should be happening like a light blinking for no reason or an app not responding correctly.
A battery pull will also free tied up file free memory. I will do a battery pull every so often just to keep my device working well.

The battery pull has got to be the most ridiculous things I've ever had to do with a phone. Ridiculous.
Download "Quick Pull" and then set up an automatic recycle every day and you'll never have to think about this again.
I use to have QuickPull. Unfortunately, I upgraded to 5.0.0.238 and it no longer works. (Oh, that, and I don't use my BB anymore)
Still, pulling the battery out the battery stinks.
I used to like Quick pull but found that doing the alt+right shift +delete reset works much better for me. I free up about 2 megs more of memory on start ups vs quick pull on my bold and it is one less app I have to carry around taking up space.
I don't use the 5.0 OS but I'd swear I just saw a thread in one of the forums that says Quick Pull now works on 5.0. Might want to look into it.
Wow. I've tested in in the past looking to see if I can find any difference and I never have. Both processes seem to free up about the same amount of space.
I'll check again over the next couple of days and see if I come up with a different result.
Nuts. The battery pull is a neccessary part of BB life. Learn to love it or die.
How did you get so many post and know so little? Huh?
Sorry about that.....
