Purchased a Chinese 2800 battery but it's tested for 3G and my battery life improved by 25% max still a lot better, that's why the Z30 is the real Z10

Standby shows 9% battery usage and counting. Yesterday the phone was running smooth, and today it started the funky chicken again without me making any changes at all. No new apps installed or anything like that.

I got a little confused here. Is this 10.2.1.537 or 10.2.1.1925? Coz when I got the update notification, it said 537.

I tried this and a lot more stuff that I came across over the Internet to fix the battery issue. Honestly, I never actually had a decent amount of battery life since I purchased it a year ago. I spent the last one year waiting for an update that may fix this, but there isn't anything to be done about this... why? LCD screens consume more battery than LEDs. You will see several articles on the Internet including CB, that their battery life is amazing and sh*t like that... But they never disclose their full usage details for people to know the exact scenario.

For me, what I need from a smartphone to get thru a day are as follows.
    1. I have 3 email accounts, and I need to receive emails on the go due to business purposes.
    2. I need Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn up and running for business purposes.
    3. I browse the Web 3 to 6 hours a day.
    4. I need multiple instant chat clients to reach my clients. That includes BBM, WhatsApp, WeChat and Skype. Also I chat with my friends and family, sometimes for an hour or two continuously.

These are my needs... And no way in hell the Z10 let's me do that, now I'm only using 1 email, Facebook and Skype. I had an HTC One X a few months ago, it let me do all of that and still come home with 20% battery left. I sold it as the so called "update" BlackBerry 10.2 promised a better battery life. They say BlackBerry 10 is a business platform, yeah my @ss!

We can never get a fair amount of battery life from the Z10, it has a stupid LCD screen and only a 1800mAh battery. Combined together, equals S H I T! And seriously, no update or what so ever can fix this. It really needs a 4000mAh battery. That's the fix.

3-6 hrs a day Web browsing??? Holy sh** dude, I have never seen any device handle that, including laptops. That is way above the normal use.

When I purchased this phone, that's exactly what I used to do with this phone. It handled all that load then, why can't it now? And also, I haven't seen anyone browsing the Web for 3 to 6 hours straight either, and neither am I stupid enough to do that on a cell phone, that's the total time of Web browsing a day.

I haven't shutdown my laptop in like forever. Just because it has a battery, doesn't necessarily mean I need to use it.

The Z10 wasn't really ready for release to the public in the first place and it appears there may be some bugs in the latest "update". Like others have mentioned I'm keeping my Z10 from updating because I need battery life more than I need the limited ability the update offers.

Think about it - if you still have to go through the file manager on the phone to rename a picture you took with the phone the update really isn't ready yet - they should have something in the way of a working update in 8 months or so.

To me, 3-6 hrs a day of web browsing is extremely heavy use. I can see that type of use every once in a while. But to expect the battery to last 16 hrs a day with that type if use is a very high expectation

I suggest you don't assume things you haven't experienced. This Z10 used to give me 12 hours with all that use on 10.0 when I purchased it.

Wasn't an assumption. I have never been able to get that out of my Z10 on any OS, either of my legacy BB's, on any tablet, or any laptop. Nor do I expect to.

After what I witnessed with a S3 and S4 yesterday, they can't either.

I really hope we get a minor update to improve the battery life. I love the Z10 but the really sucky battery life makes me wish I bought the Z30 instead.

That's probably the best thing to do. I'm planning on selling my Z10 and get a Z30. It uses an AMOLED display, so the dark theme is the most useful on that.

My question if you do this, and some minor experimenting with this myself, you then can't use the lock screen notifications option...

I can still use lock screen notifications. The screen comes on when I get any message.
