Is there a way to backup and/or save downloaded themes somehow? If so, how, thanks!

Use BBSAK (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife). It has the ability to backup all 3rd
    party apps.

OMG, this thing rocks! Now I'll just have to figure out how to get the apps put back on my phone if something ever happens. I'm assuming you use the BBSAK Restore Apps, right???

You can or you can even use the BB Desktop Manager.

What you might want to know is how many of those "backup" files (cod files is what they are) are in certain applications. Most themes are just the one cod file but there are some apps that have submodules (I have a game that uses 4 modules). In the BB's Option Menu, under applications (or advanced/app on older OS's) you can find your app and it will list the modules for the app. So you could restore that set, if necessary.
