Are background programs worth the memory they occupy?
I've read the very informative post about background prgms and the memory "footprint" a prgm may consume so to speak, but it still irks me to some degree.
For instance, I'm on the fence abt functional synergetic apps such as BerryBuzz or LocationProfiler, both of which I find very nice but I don't know if I wanna make the jump as they sit in the background-waiting. The Bolds alarm clock for instance is set, programmed and executed all without being in the bkground (at least it doesn't show). Why doesn't BBsmart Alarms do the same? MissingLight shows up purple when there's a missed call, without backgrounding either.
GMaps, Jivetalk run in the back and that's fine-they should and should consume memroy and battery accordingly. Viigo is a hog but that's common knowledge.
This is just an OCD person requesting some peace of mind. Are these simple fucntionality apps worth the trouble?
Thanks!
