I backed up my tour using the desktop manager, then wiped it and put ran the restore from that same file. Then after checking phone all of my apps in the downloaded file are gone and some in the a[[s section. Is this normal does it restore the phone better than this or did I screw something up?
There is a separate option to backup 3rd party programs I believe, think you missed it. Didn't screw something up, just have to reinstall everything you had there.
Here are some simple instructions to backup your 3rd party apps. They were in the Storm forum, but will work for any BB. You could also download the free app BBSAK, which can also do 3rd party backups. Also, don't forget about your sd card. No backup process copies the data on that card (your pictures/music). So if there are things on it that you would be upset if you lost, you should use your pc to copy the cards contents from time to time.
