I backed up my phone a while ago. And the memory just got wiped. I got the phone working again, but when I try to restore the backup it says " The data was not recognized by the desktop ". It is an .ipd file. Is there anyway that I can restore my Blackberry?

I backed it up on desktop manager 4.3 and now im on 4.7...would that effect it at all?

The version of DM shouldn't matter. Your backup file may be corrupt. I can't be sure because I've never heard of the error you cite. Try using ABC Amber BlackBerry Convertor. It has a free trial. It will allow you to read your backup file. You may be able to recover some of your data that way.

It cannot open the file on that either
You are just suppose to go to the ipd and try to open it right?

No start ABC berry first. Then use it to open the file you want.
