so i ditched my Curve 8330 (VZW) in favor of the Droid a few months ago. i was loving it for a while, but recently i've found myself craving the crackberry again. the Droid does seem a bit faster and smoother, but the touch screen is not that great. and i don't like moving parts. even then, the keyboard is...well...crap. i'll take a BB keyboard anyday.
so i just went back to my 8330. i'm going to give it a go for a while and see if it's what i really want or i'm just only remembering the good and forgetting the bad. if it turns out well, i'm going to upgrade to either the Tour or the newer Curve. right now i'm leaning toward the curve because, as i said, i don't like moving parts so i want to move to the touchpad. but i heard the new curve is just so-so compared to the Tour. any thoughts?
regardless, the whole point of this post was simply to say...
i'm back baby!
Hello. I had the bbeery Curve 8330, loved it so I upgraded to the Curve 2.. and definitely wasn't happy. I just went and got the bberry tour today and I LOVE it!! I would go with the tour.
If you are alright with trackballs, go with the tour. It's very solid. If you want the new trackpad, go with the Bold for VZW (upgrade to the tour, as I am told). I wouldn't waste an upgrade on the tour if a new one is coming out soon.
thanks for the replies everyone. i am kinda deadset on a trackpad. and i'm not into the whole tethering thing. the only other issue is price. i'm not so keen on dropping a whole load of cash on another phone. too much too soon unfortunately. only time will tell. i'm going to settle in with my old 8330 for a while and see where it takes me. there's still a chance i go back to the Droid...but not a very large one.
The Tour 2 is now going to be a CDMA Bold and is months away. If you can't wait that long, get the Tour. The Curve 2 has a horrible screen and keyboard, which are the most important parts of a BB.

Install 5.0 from Boost Mobile (or a hybrid) on your 8330 and play around with it It's like having a new BB. Just use the Shrink utility, as it's a tight fit.
