A friend of mine is about to embark on the journey of a lifetime: a trip around the world with his three kids and spouse.

Don't ask or comment about how he can afford this, this is not the point.

They plan on visiting as many countries as possible. They also plan on teaching the kids (homeschool) as best they can.

They also plan on writing a blog about their adventures, and this is what triggered my idea. While I was discussing with them of options for them to stay connected, I told them about how versatile was the Z30 since you can plug usb devices to it and so on. They were interested in getting a few playbooks for the kids all the while they need a reliable way of staying connected.

Given all this, I thought they could pitch to idea to Blackberry that in return of getting Blackberry devices to use, they would write about their stories and reports, blogs and so on, all through Blackberry tools.

BBM video with people back at home. BBM video with their support teacher back in Canada.
Research for trip related information on BBRY Z30. Multimedia sessions for kids through BBRY. Pictures of places and countries they will visit. Always with a BBRY device in sight, and always using one for communication purposes.

This is not about them getting a free ride, they can afford the devices, but it might make for a great exposure for Blackberry for cheap. Heck, they may do it without BBRY's support.

    What do you guys think?

I think it is a great idea. They can also hook up their devices to an overhead projector & do a BBM Video call with someone far away & the students will be able to participate at the same time too. How to enable dual way conversation is something you need to try out first but it all seems possible.

Do share it if you are successful as I would like to do it too.

I think that somehow of a different marketing approach may help them differentiate themselves from the competition.

As George Costanza once said: If everything you do turns out to be wrong then the opposite would have to be right!

Good point, and easy for them to share as they go with BBM channels!
