Or being reasonable and know that even with a BlackBerry, nudies can still leak out lol. It's easy to blame Apple and yes, a lot of the stuff is without a doubt coming from iCloud in some way but a lot of it has also come from other places as well. To blame it entirely on iCloud or Apple is irresponsible. If anything, it should stand as a lesson for everyone to:

• Use strong, hard-to-crack, impossible to guess passwords.
• Enable two-factor authentication wherever possible.
• Refuse to give up complete details and even go so far as to give false info on websites that ask for information.
• Learn how to use your devices and what such things as 'backing up to the cloud' really mean.

It could have, and in some cases has proven to of have been, from any device or any cloud storage service. Plus, for BlackBerry to come out and use this in any way, is a very slippery slope in MANY different ways. As soon as they start saying such things, someone will instantly be out to prove them wrong.

On top of that, depending on how you look at it they could very well end up alienating the very people this hack happened to and who'd they want on their side.. the celebs. Taking a serious situation for some of your potential customers and turning it into an 'ad campaign' is very risky business and and now that there's even child pornography charges involved (McKayla Maroney) it becomes an even riskier venture.

Ya, let's everyone throw BlackBerry into that mess... makes sense. I dare say it's best BlackBerry ride this one out and let Apple do their own damage but what do I know.

Lol....i don't know why people think folks are just gonna run to BlackBerry. it would be nice but I'm pretty sure people are gonna consider multiple other options before getting a BlackBerry

On topic I think this breach has another few days lifespan especially with the known flaw patched up already. Unfortunately for those hoping for BlackBerry to capitalize on this, the Ifaithful will be salivating for their shiny new toy again, just in time for release.

On a second look the answer is "no".

Yes, iCloud was never really safe for your data:

However, the only cloud service from BlackBerry is the device backup function of BlackBerry Protect for the legacy devices up to OS 7.

And afaik this service from BlackBerry doesn't offer any two factor authentication either?

I think, iBrute could be also quite successfull against BlackBerry Protect or the BlackBerry ID login...if the target is not using strong passwords.

To be precise, iCloud wasn't breached. But Apple's poor implementation of security on its iCloud Find My iPhone feature probably contributed to the hack in no small measure. Leaving the door open to a brute force attack in 2014 says a lot about how seriously Apple considers its users' data security.

Remember back in the day when buying a blackberry was something people wanted to do because of the merits of the devices and what they could do and not because something terrible was happening to another competing device.

Those were the days.

An apple fan will stay at apple Devices. And the question is, why all the accounts are hacked?
The said it was because weak passwords and so on.

It isn't the chance for BlackBerry to wait for failure of the others... the chance is, to make the right things and decisions...
And like Chen said... BlackBerry is nit only BlackBerry Smartphones I love my device but I see the main future of BlackBerry in other sections not the mainstream using.
In mainstream BlackBerry will be ever or for a looong time at the lower market share and I think that's good for BlackBerry and the users.
Because, if there are more BlackBerry at the mainstream market, the hackers will focus at them...

I'm a Linux User and im glad, that it isn't the favourite desktop system, so the hacks are really rare
