    Hey everyone!

My very first Crackberry thread ever! I am able to get a Z30 for a good price and am wondering if anyone in Canada has purchased a Blackberry Z30 STA100-2 overseas? If so, does LTE work here in Canada?

Please let me know! Thank you.

Friend bought it from the middle east and is willing to sell it to me for $650. He comes back in less than a week.

I understood what the OP meant, not sure why all the negativity. Check out this thread for details. It looks like it will work but I am not sure you will get the best results as you won't have LTE (if I read that correctly).

Thats what I heard but I saw the Z30 -2 has 2600 LTE band...and Rogers also have the 2600. I can wait until its here in Oct 15 but I can get it from my friend for 650 instead of 699+tax here. But of course I would like the best connectivity.

Oh wait the q10 uses 2600 I believe. But I thought Rogers was only just rolling it out so it was available in only a few markets.

What carrier are you with anyway?

OP, wherever you are, find out which Q10 Rogers is selling at nearby stores. If it's the SQN100-3, I would surmise that the LTE 2600 network around you is good enough for Rogers to carry it locally (because the SQN100-3 has LTE 2600, and not LTE 1700.) Try to look at an operating demo phone, and see if it says LTE on there.

If, by chance it's the SQN100-1 that they're stocking around you, I would not expect LTE on the STA100-2 Z30.

Raino, after doing some digging, can you confirm that the model for Rogers/Fido would be the following model: STA100-5? It has LTE 2100mhz & 2600mhz

I don't know if the STA100-5 will be native to Rogers (if they ever decide to carry it,) but it will be compatible with Rogers' LTE 2600 network and their HSPA+ network(s). The -5 could also be used on LTE-less WIND.

For use on Rogers, the -2 and the -6 are just as good as the -5.

If Rogers has a good LTE 2600 network (instead of/in addition to LTE 1700) around you, I say go for it. I don't follow Rogers too much, so I don't know how well deployed their LTE 2600 network is.

I just called Rogers actually inquiring about 2600 in Vancouver. He stated where I live there is coverage and the rest of Vam has 2600. Also, so does North Vancouver (usually last to get new frequencies). So I think ill get it and for some reason im not getting LTE how I want I can sell it and get it from Bell. Worth the shot if im svaing $180ish (699+tax - 650).
