I've had the Q10 since it came out, but have been reading so much about the Bold in comparison. From stories about BlackBerry always supporting legacy OS to super productivity. It seems the Bold was the best BlackBerry ever made and it'll be at least a few years before people start saying that about the Q10, if at all.

I've been thinking about getting a Bold just to play with and switch sim cards with my Q10 from time to time. Does anyone still have their old Bold as a backup?

Did anyone buy a Bold after buying a Q10?

Extremely unhappy with T-Mobile not releasing 10.2 yet...

Yup. I hedged my bets and got a new Bold about a month before my Q10.

Many days, when my typing and editing are frustratingly slow by comparison, I still consider going back to it. I'm hoping the eventual T-mo 10.2 release changes my mind...Assuming we ever get it!

I hate my optimus as a phone and in reading about stuff I got real interested in Blackberry. so i got a 9930 off ebay and so far am just using it as an unregistered wifi music streamer. which will probably be illegal pretty soon but i can have delusions of privacy for awhile. it was only $175 and i was kind of guessing which Bold to get. i also bought a playbook but so far only used it to stream music a couple times.

i dont trust ATNT and now with this NSA news i think a BB is the only way to go but sounds like there are backdoors to everything anyway, i am not so SURE they have one for the 'legacy' blackberries.

my L G is on contract and I think that rooted it would make a fine travel browser, but in the end I want BB to be my main browser / phone and the LG a backup. I am anxious to try the BB as a phone but am hesitant to try to get ATNT involved yet. I just got these a month or so ago.

I think I want a z30 or even a z50 (eventually) but not cuz I need them. still looking things over and dont want ATnT to mess up my wifi thing for now, meanwhile I pay for a pretty data plan with them anyway.

sorry I am a 1.fingered onscreen typist for now... ordered a playbook keyboard but its not here yet and the blutooth keyboard I have wont stay connected to my samsung galaxy tablet. all I REALLY want is an unhackable desktop but nuther story . . .

yes! I own a Z10 but been wanting a Bold 9900 so bad since it came out that I bought one after BB10 to replace my old Bold 9700
I put a straight talk sim in it and BIS has been a hit and miss, works today and stops and work again weeks later. Don't know why and my APN is updated but can't find the proxy settings in the phone. so for now its a phone and text. oh and BBM voice work over wi-fi but sending messages quit working

I do miss my Bold 9900. It was solid, gorgeous screen, wonderful keyboard and just felt right in my hand. Sold it on EBay for $200. Love my Z10 but it was hard letting my Bold go.

    I had two Bold 9900s and a Torch 9810 when I got my Z10.

I sold the black Bold and the Torch right away.

I kept the white Bold because it's rare here in America, where it was never sold.

After just a week or two with the Z10, there was NO way I could go back to the legacy OS. BlackBerry 10 is so much better for me.

After getting a Q10, I was complete. I had a qwerty device on BB10. I've played with my friend's 9930 next to my Q10 (before she got a gold iPhone 5S), and realized the keyboard just felt cramped compared to the Q10's.

The 9900 looks nice still, but in terms of usage, I could not go back to that thing.

It's really nice. At the time (March 2013) I would have been fine using the 9900 for another year, and I'd had it since it came out in August 2011.

The OS was pretty much perfect, as I was on a leak, where I could set the color of the LED (I remember this was the last big feature I got, and I missed it when I got a Z10... and it's still not in BB10).

If you could find one for cheap, I'd get one, especially if you've never had one. It looks modern still, and I remember mine had held up beautifully, though I kept it in a hardshell case. The 9900 was my favorite phone before BlackBerry 10.

I've never used one, but The Bold will definitely go down as one of the best looking smart phones of all time. I may be mistaken, but as the BB10 operating system matures, it should clear up many of the missing options people are longing for.

As SK said, I could not go back to BBos, once I tried bb10 there was no turning back. I still have my Bold 9780, but seems soooo outdated, specially since I got my Z30

I am a business user. I feel no need for a trackpad.

OP = I've got a work issued 9930 that I have to use, no choice there. I've also got a personal 9900, but the few times that I've used it since using BB10 devices I've gone back to the Z10 and now the Q10. I can't imagine having to use a 9900 as my main device for any length of time.

I am Q10 user and I am thinking of buying bold 9900 because in sometimes I don't need many options and I am afraid of q10.

But... one thing that is turning me down is battery. So I will stick to Q10

I loved my 9900 when I had it. It really was the best phone I had ever owned at the time. But now I'm spoiled by the Z10. I can't say that it's better then the 9900, but I sure do like it more and just don't see myself ever going back. Curiously, the one thing I probably miss most is the trackpad... but as I noted in another thread, it's a minor inconvenience compared to the other benefits of BB10.

Kind of funny - was just looking at my old 9650 the other day. What a little brick that thing is.

Regarding switching back to a 9930 from a Q10 - don't think I could do it. 10.2.1.xxxx has too much to offer in terms of functionality.

This is a nice way to put exactly what I am doing. I spent the past few days looking online for a good 9930 to "hedge my bets".
