Try using an email app, maybe Outlook or Gmail?

All my FB contacts and birthdays are linked to my both my gMail and Outlook email accounts and I don't miss a beat.

This vid is from 2011. Meanwhile FB closed the option to export your friends contact information like that.
I've searched the web myself - and of cause found the same "solution" you're reporting about here.

So it seems like there is literally NO WAY to export contacts today...
Even on Android there seems to be no more integration with your phone contacts..

I am saving a photo of all my FB contacts on on PC. I am also entering fake phone numbers for my FB friends in the Contacts App.

I will keep a backup via ContactsImEx and if FB deletes my linked contacts, I will restore them myself.

Seems like a lot of work. And still ContactsImEx didn't save any FB related data of my contacts. Are you sure it did save the connected FB data of your contacts?

ContactsImEx only save those with a phone number.

You can try to unmerge your current contacts. In the contact apps settings.
