I was wondering if there's any way to have more than one contact list on my blackberry.. not looking to have a group within my main contact list, but two actual lists.

I don't have the answer, but I wouldn't mind knowing the answer. Self-ping.

Also, what's a "group." I can see the menu feature for making a new group but am uncertain what the groups would be used for. Are they for easier searching? Can you make a notification exception for an entire group without adding each member entirely?

Sorry for jumping in and asking in your topic, but I figured it's kinda relative and that you'll probably get your answer quickly. I'm betting the answer to your question will be not without a third party application ...

A group is a way to set-up an e-mail list by group. Let's say that you wanted to e-mail to your personal contacts. You could set-up a group called personal. Now instead of sending an e-mail to each person individually you can send it by group. I hope that answers that question.

As to contact list you can only have one but you can mark them into separate categories and then filter your results.

Making categories in my Contact list is what I've always done and then I filter it so only "personal" shows unless I need the rest. If you want a hidden contact list you can buy the app "BlackBook" and you could use it as a second contact list.

I use categories as well. Definitely not two lists, but it keeps everything in sync with Outlook, and I can quickly filter to the results I'm looking for.
