Not likely....but that's been discussed here long before that SA article - https://forums.crackberry.com/genera...uawei-1171018/ even the author of the article knows it's an insane longshot for a multitude of reasons. Just off the top, without even really thinking about it, there's a handful of reasons it just simply won't fly.

- You think John Chen wants to get that deeply involved in mobile again? He's running a Billion dollar security company now.
- You think John Chen wants to go against the US Government, which he has plenty of contracts with still, and work with Huawei? They literally set up a center to work specifically with the Government.
- The proposed use of 'BlackDroid' wouldn't almost certainly wouldn't fly under Google's rules of usage.
- Huawei reportedly already has money in their own OS, they won't abandon it to work yet again on someone else's OS.
- Even if they went the BB10 route they would be dumping in a ton of cash to build out an ecosystem, developer support, hardware support and more.

Makes for a nice read, though, for those who are long on BB or like to fantasize and ignore reality.

There's less than zero chance of anything happening with BB10 for a dozen reason, and Huawei doesn't need BB for Android. Nothing BB can do is going to get Google Play on their new phones, and that's what they need in order to sell phones outside of China.

I've long ago given up on anything that appears in SA. It's a shame, it could have been a useful resource, but without proper vetting and peer review, it's just as reliable as spells that appear in Harry Potter books. Same goes for Boy Genius or whatever he calls himself...frankly the only valuable forums are the ones that appear here, and that speaks to the credit of those who participate.
