I remember a few months back when 10.1 was fresh on the market we were already seeing leaks and videos of 10.2 and it's capabilities. Now that 10.2 is out I have yet to see anything about 10.3
Is it even in development? I read around the forums that the head of BBM went to Sweden to head the 10.3 team, is this true?
Also before developers were given a road map on when OS would be released, is there any beta builds of 10.3 in the pipeline that any devs know about?
I've not seen any official announcement or anything on the developer site. There are a few items on the road map but they could be planned for 10.2 updates. 10.3 would be some way off I imagine, so it'll most likely be incremental 10.2 releases for now.
From what I've read on these forums, "10.2.1.xxxx" is the current OS being developed, as we already have early builds leaked here. As far as a 10.3, only BlackBerry knows at this point.
Some times I feel like if there was a full-working way to know future, many people will spend lot of time watching the future and stop caring about present =D
Would be nice to know, but there is always some body letting us know any news about this, relax =)
BTW I did not like the way the other discussion ended ... too much drama, too much
BB11? I thought the 10 in BB10 was not a version number so much as it was a nomenclature issue when BBX had to be changed after a complaint that somebody already owned the BBX name.
because they are talking about 10.2.1 before 10.3. Why would they be talking about 10.3 before their next update which is 10.2.1?
10.2.1 is not a major update. It is a minor update. After 10.1 was released we were immediately aware of the features coming in a major update. Now things have changed, software development has slowed perhaps due to layoffs. Last time we knew about major improvements coming and now we don't. Likely has to due with dismal financials last quarter. BlackBerry needs a major update as people are not buying into the platform as evidenced by the horrendous BB10 sales

Yea exactly. We saw things like instant reply and lock screen notifications when 10.1 was still fresh

Somewhere I read about QNX11 coming, I thought BB# was anchored to QNX#, is it like that?
If that's true, that'll lead to OS fragmentation. All current devices will be getting 10.3
BlackBerry expect to provide software updates for the life of the phone which is typically over a 2 year contract.
It would be good if,after first days of November, BlackBerry itself will clarify that. Will there be a BB11? If yes, when? If no,will they release other major updates like 10.2..and when? And most of all, will ALL the present BlackBerry will have updates for at least a couple of years from now?
What an unbelievably stupid question ... who cares whether the next release is 10.2.1 or 10.3.0, these are just numbers.
Methinks some of the malignant lingerers around here are looking for any excuse they can find, no matter how pitiful, to trash BlackBerry. What sad and pathetic lives these people must lead to spend all day on a BlackBerry forum b!tching and complaining about how much they hate BlackBerry and want it to fail!
