I tried to find the information online but no dice. So I'll ask here. Has RIM mentioned anything about updating the BB10 phones OS's directly? Or would they still have the OS be subject of approval by carriers?

That's a good question. I just hope that we can install the latest OS regardless of our carrier's choice, like we can with our current BBs.

Since the 4G PlayBook's OS updates require carrier approval, I would assume same thing would occur with BlackBerry 10 handset's OS updates.
