Would you guys prefer BlackBerry 10 didn't have this? There seems to be a lot of complaining for the app quality and when I read about side-loading people usually only mention 3 or 4 apps (sometimes less) that they downloaded. So my question is would you rather have the ability for apps to be android ports or all apps have to be native (even if the app count/ecosystem would be significantly less)

I hate it. I do however, see how it is good for others. For me though, I have an Android device for the Android apps I want to run. Plus, I think it's a not-so-great implementation of Android. Needs improvement if it's going to be sticking around.

Some ports I have used work okay, so I'm willing to try them before saying no ports should exist. I do wish the ports were clearly labeled as such though.

I'm looking forward to the day it's gone so badly I can't stand it.

People itching for big-name apps right here and now can probably praise it all day but seriously, how would BlackBerry intend on creating a new OS and have an accompanying ecosystem actually (and yes slowly) 'grow' by just piggybacking on someone else's platform (and Google of all companies.) One way or another, I'm not convinced this little cherade with Android is going to last unless the company decides to ditch it all including any hope for remaining a world-class security oriented mobile business and go all Android.

Is BlackBerry even in business to cater to the crowds whom should be carrying an Android or an iPhone for example? (Apps apps apps.)
I don't think their concern, direction or intended market is to be the #1 leader in the consumer space, nor do they need to be to survive and thrive. Guess we'll see.

Ya, there's plenty. Don't take it too hard though. Welcome to CrackBerry, just friendly advice... try and search before making new posts because chances are, if you need help with something it's been posted somewhere already. If you're looking to post something, there MIGHT be a similar topic already.
