That so called Analyst has put a price target of $5 on RIM. That's a near 40% difference from where the stock is at right now. He has absolutely no basis for his claim. I don't see why these posts should be entertained. RIM will release BB10 when they feel they've filled major app gaps. Their target is 21st January but they would delay it a little if there are some major apps missing.

Now, somebody please close this thread :P

People forget that Heins said that the delay was only a sixty day delay. If the original plan was to release BB10 in cy 2012, then for what Heins said to be true, release would have to be by the end of February. In reality, it really means January because the original release date was probably in late October.

I don't believe RIM anymore and have not for some time. So far, Heins has accomplished nothing tangible, meaning no new products that anyone can buy.

I doesn't matter that RIM stated Q1 2013 and that March meets that target.

If this is true, then this will just hurt RIM even more.
For every day that BB10 isn't on the market, their chances for a comeback get more and more unlikely.

When BB10 finally gets released, you'll see the phrase "Too Little, Too Late" attached to most reviews and news items about it. And that's how people will react when they see it.

He would have a point, but he's missing one little thing: evidence. Could BB10 be launching in March 2013? Maybe...it would be a bad delay for RIM so I'm sure they would do anything in their power to avoid it. But unless I see a shred of evidence to support the March 2013 date, I'm sticking to my January launch beliefs.

Some of the article makes sense, but he ruined it with the baseless March 2013 claim.

To be fair to the guy, he acknowledges that it is still Q1 and doesn't call RIm "late", only that he hoped they would come in January and not March. A March release means 2 more really tough quarters. Unfortunately, given RIM's recent track record, I find it hard to argue with him that the release is more likely to be at the end of the quarter, not in January. Still holding out on that 9650 upgrade....

wasn't this dill hole the same guy that said BB10 was on par with Android but far behind iOS because he had seen BB10s completed state before any sort of media was able to see it? to say its delayed or even think that it may come out in March doesn't reflect his previous statement that he had seen it and its not better then iOS

I was about to post about this actually, just heard it on FB from a friend.

I don't know what to think. I want to believe RIM is right on target with a January release. Look at all the prototypes and advancements we've seen in just a couple of months: a BB10 Beta for dev's, another dev alpha device, leaked prototypes of the L-Series, and Developers are all over it. If they continue with this current trend I see them releasing in January no problem, barring some divine intervention anyway :P

there is a possbility that it could take that long, but if carriers are backing up RIM i'm sure they may push testing a bit faster

Considering that the Carriers are getting the phones This Month to begin their testing I find it hard to believe that the phones wont be out until March.
