So today I decided to see how good the battery life is on the Z10 and I must say I am overly impressed! I took it off the charger at 8am, it is now 1:39 am and I still have 15% battery left. This is with high usage. Skype, words with friend's, Facebook, Twitter, texting, and browsing the Web. Great job BlackBerry!!!

Have any of you had such a great battery experience like I did?

my battery life is fine. I use 4g lte and would say medium user all day. Unplug at 5:30 am and when I get home at 4:30 still have 35% left. I got a charger bundle today so i really don't care what it is. i have never run out of battery. The Z10 doesnt have to have enough power to start your car!

I put my z10 to the test and ran it down to 7 % then I pluged the spare battery bundel in and BOOM it charged it up to 75 in about 20 min and that was while watching youtube and downloading music

    I'm with this guy, really?

I unplug my phone at 6:45am and by 4 its down to 20 to 30 percent. That's with the battery saving tips from this site, and I switched it to 4G. I just browse the Internet and send texts and bbm only. I can't imagine what it would be like once Skype comes to z10.

Yeah I side loaded it and I've been out all day with 4G let from T-Mobile and it ran all day. I don't know if I really did anything to it but I just threw it on the charger.

Are you suggesting you have a fully functional Skype client side loaded, or that you have a version without video chat running that only does text communications?

Battery life has been better than expected for me. My office is in the basement where I lose carrier reception.
I bought a brand new battery for my 9650 less than a year ago, but I would have to either shut off my mobile or keep it on the charger.
Perhaps its the way it handles signal loss or what but I haven't had to plug my Z10 this whole week!
Now I would've wanted just a tad bit more juice. But I find its sufficient. I really miss those charging contacts on the 9650.

    When is that dock coming?!

The problem is everyone has different definitions of what a heavy or power user is.
Personally I can't see anyone getting over 6-8 hours with what I'd call high usage, but then that's true with competitors phones as well.

It also depends on what carrier they are on and what kind of coverage they are getting, what apps they have loaded, do they use WIFI, bluetooth, stream music, etc. There are too many variables to compare and think we all should be getting the same battery life.

As usual, it depends almost entirely on how long your screen was on.

The OP said 17.7 hours of heavy use, but in fact during that time he would have had the screen on for well under half the time.

If you have the screen on continuously, you'll definitely see closer to 8h, not 17...

(Quick check: his average power consumption was 0.39W during that time. That's less than the screen itself takes, except on 0% brightness in a completely dark room. Clearly there's no way the screen was on for the majority of the time, so don't be very concerned if you can't get 17.7h with "heavy use".)

Exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong but the screen is one of the biggest, if not the biggest user of power. That is why people who are used to the old Blackberries think there is a "problem". Turn screen brightness down to a tolerable level. Screen timeout should be set to 30 seconds or less. These things should help battery life.

I'm getting between 9 to 13 hours myself. I think it has great battery life. Even so, I'm looking forward to having an extra battery soon so I can eliminate any worries I get when the unexpected time comes when I run out of juice.

Yes. My BlackBerry Z10 battery usually lasts me around 20 hrs of heavy use and if I keep my snap case cover closed frequently, I can go 24 hrs before needing to charge.
