Whatever ill will anyone is feeling about RIM, let me just say this: there is not one single company out there that listens to everyone. Most of the companies that succeed beyond others did so because of a popular idea that they were lucky enough to implement at the right time and in a way that was widely accepted by a larger portion of consumers. Including RIM, including Apple, including Microsoft, including Nokia, including <insert successful business here>. We can sit here and argue all we want about what RIM should/could have done, but that won't change anything that did happen or will happen. Nobody knows if they had embarked down the QNX road three years earlier that they would not be in the same position they are in today anyway. Nobody knows if QNX is going to save the company or not. Nobody knows who's going to come along and dethrone Apple as the king of tech companies. But I can tell you that it's only a matter of time before somebody does, and there will probably be countless online forums full of people declaring how much Apple didn't listen to their customers and what they should/could have done to prevent their downfall.
Sorry, but this constant rehash of the same melodrama, bravado, hyperbole and armchair executive management is beyond tiresome.
