Now that Google changed the privacy policy a few days ago, I have been
looking for alternatives. I will use Ixquick as my search engine from now on. By trial and error I found out how the mobile site of Ixquick is configured to be my search engine in the browser of my Torch 9810:
For German users it is
https://ixquick.com/do/m/smartphone_search.pl?language=deutsch&query=%s

If you prefere English:
https://ixquick.com/do/m/smartphone_search.pl?query=%s

If you want to do a Google search without using (and sending data to) Google you may use Startpage as search engine. The settings are similar:
https://startpage.com/do/m/smartphone_search.pl?language=deutsch&query=%s for searching in German or https://startpage.com/do/m/smartphone_search.pl?query=%s in English

I actually use Bing. They have something neat for the playbook - sometimes the 'picture for the day' is animated (a video) on the playbook
