"Africa - the Answer to Blackberry's Woes?" (allafrica.com)
Nothing earth shattering, but thought I'd share this irrespective:
allAfrica.com: Africa - the Answer to Blackberry's Woes?
I think part of what makes BB's offer so compelling in Africa, as in other developing countries, is the ability to get so much done for so little. By this, I'm referring to BB's data rationing and the impact this has on users who pay a lot for data throughput. The ability to do your email, surf, social network and yes, importantly, bbm with the most basic package makes all the difference. Perversely, the high cost of data has I think also played well for BB, in that those with other smartphones are somewhat impeded from demonstrating just how far these platforms have come to lap BBs on multimedia, web access, apps, etc.
