Ok. So how do I go about getting/setting up my own? I'm assuming I would also need to have our email admin's permission to hook into Exchange. Correct?

You do it through a BIS account that verizon sets up for you. Then you set up the phone to get all of your emails. Take a look at the How To section under the Blackberry Help tab above.

You will be better off with BIS anyways and can still get your company email in most cases. Your privacy is more secure IMHO.

Yeah, I was looking at the BIS option but I really need my contacts and appointments? Unless I read it wrong that isn't possible with BIS.

Your contacts you sync manually from your ?outlook? to the device, and your appointments if loaded in the Calendar has 2 options of either being wireless push sync, or manual wired sync.

I have the BIS and sync my calendar and contacts with my google calendar. My work does not use outlook (weird, huh?) so use google calendar and contacts so I can keep it all together and it's really working nicely for me.

There are solutions for the BIS account to handle your calander and contact, such as using Outlook, or using google sync. We'll help you do it. Get a BB it's well worth it.
