I'm traveling in a few days to Mexico (using a buddy's 8820, instead of my 8800) where I'll have WIFI, but no data plan (because ATT wants $69.99/month for an international data plan *and* a one year commitment on it). I will have voice access.

Q. Will the gmail for blackberry app work over wifi only?

Q. Will a Skype client work over wifi only?

Q. Will BB messenger work over wifi only?

Q. Will IM+ or JiveTalk work over wifi only?

gmail will work on the Google browser only....the gmail app will not.....

no other IM apps will work

JIVE TALK will work over WiFi (i am doing the same)...


What are you doing for voice in Mexico??? I have heard there are some cheap prepaid sims you can get.
