So i have a 8320 on tmobile and use the google maps program. I know my phone does not have GPS, but how does Google maps know my location. Everytime i go into Google maps, it updates my exact location and the program works as if i have GPS

    WTF?

It could be using cel tower triangulation. Which is what the 8310 uses to get the general area, then the satellite narrows it down.

I think it's just cell towers. That's why your location is so far from where you actually are.

400 meters is almost a quarter of a mile - not exactly exact.
