Hi! I'm a new user of this phone and still learning...I was wondering why I could not browse the internet or access my email from my phone, even when the wi fi is enabled....I have Tmobile as a provider and no data plan (I know, why have this phone without the data plan...I plan to get it once my daughter is off of my bill)....I noticed that other wi fi enabled devices (Ipod touch) can get right on the net and access email. I thought as long as wi fi is enabled, you should be able to access the net. any info would be appreciated. Thank you! Lisa

The Hotspot Browser will let you access the Internet when you have a Wifi connection, but it does not support BlackBerry Email or Messaging.

Options / Advanced Options / Browser.

You can use web based Email, Googles Gmail for example integrates nicely with iGoogle.

it dosen't say UMA all the time....kind of flashes on every once in awhile...it usually says edge.....you gave me an idea though, I walked across the house into the room where our main computer and router is located...and "edge" disappeared and "uma" was there...and then I was able to use the browser to access my email..... I guess the strength of the connection is not consistent in my house. So ultimately, I was able to use the browser and access my email.....thank you!

Good deal...and I don't know the size of your home or your router type but consider a range extender or upgrading your router if its older
