By happenstance, I got the Jawbone to activate the Auto Voice Dialing by pressing the Noise Assisin button for 2 seconds.

Nobody at Jawbone, AT&T, or RIMM knew this! Unbelievable

You can spend hours on everyone's website, talk to the tech at AT&T, and RIMM (who are really great), and you will find nobody that knows this; I found out by accident.

My Jawbone activates my 8310 when I press the on/off button briefly. I press, there is a low frequency beep, then I wait while the VAD wakes up and then the phone speaks just like normal. Works a charm. Always has.

Mine works exactly like that as well with my 8330 curve. Always has, probably always will. Didn't know that this was a big revelation for people.

And I'm taking it you have an 8310 with AT&T, not an 8130 with Sprint or Verizon.
