We know thay RIM is working on it, but keeping details close to the vest so I don't think you'll get too much dirt, BUT I would be interested too. Rumor has it, it WILL support some of their newer BBs, like the Bold & Storm.

it would be nice if they scrapped java so they could have direct access to the hardware's capabilities and not have to use the JVM as a proxy

    flash support please

    no memory leaks please

I thought BES 5.0 was being referred to as Argon. Are they calling the OS this now too?

Yh. Just got a curve 8330 that actually has no problems and it would be awesome to get 5.0.

Hopefully it brings browser improvements. Its sad that bolt and Opera Mini both whip the crap out of the BB browser. Time for some improvements.

The browser on the Bold is a HUGE improvement over the browser on the older devices.

A feature I hope it supports is launching and saving applications directly to the memory card.

You guys can all see it... But release date, like everyone else has said. Not for a while. Since 4.7 just came out with the Storm. Also 4.7.1 with the 9630.

No, the next OS step for these devices will most likely just be the 5.0 upgrade.

Are we allowed to discuss features that 5.0 will bring ?? Are there thoughts / rumblings of an OS that takes advantage of say the Storm's capabilities?? That perhaps isn't just the bold OS ported onto the storm?

We can talk about 5.0 all we want, RIM people (or those under NDAs) will not confirm or deny

but that honestly doesn't impress.. it appears once again to be an os and interface designed for the trackball and keyboard styled blackberrys . . which is all well and good but I would really like to see RIM put serious development tools / assets into the STORM and develop a touch interface platform that has not and never will look like it's designed for a trackball and just ported over... but we're not thinking thats in the cards are we...

it's sad to see that rim got the hardware right, but Apple has the software. RIM got to put more resources and efforts for the OS. There's a lot of buggy release, and now that Apple announced 3.0 os for this summer, with lots of new improvement, we need to get a better more optimized release.
