Edit: Was released like last early to middle of September. I am able to upgrade to it, but waiting to see what QNX handhelds offer.
I guess that one was snuck in under my nose, I'm surprised I didn't know this was out. Of course T-Mo has not been a large presence in my area, although I have wondered upon a few of their towers that don't appear to be all that new either.....
I've been under the impression there were no 4G Blackberrys so I'm a bit surprised to see an ad running on the forum....
HSPA+ has been determined to be 4G by the governing body along with first Gen LTE and WiMax. None of the above mentioned technologies, in their current state, meet the original 4G definition, but all meet the revised. So AT&T and T-mobile are the only US companies that have 4G Blackberry devices. That said I just made the switch from 10 years at Sprint to T-Mobile and a 9900 and I'm happy so far. Speed increase is amazing and when the 9900 support WiFi Calling in the November update it will be even better.
Yep, only AT&T and T-Mobile are calling the HSPA+ "4G". Even though it's really just a step up and extension of the normal 3G spec. Notice that BlackBerry is not calling it 4G in their spec listings at all. And on the screen the mobile network would indicate "H+".

on my at&t branded 9860 prototype running the .440 leak, my H+ has changed to 4G. it appears only my phone has this change, as others in the .440 leak thread say theirs says H+ still.

My T-Mobile 9900 shows 4G, not H+. I know they both mean the same thing but T-Mobile had RIM set their OS to show 4G. The 3GPP has deemed HSPA+ a 4G technology along with first gen WiMax and LTE (none of which meet the original definition of 4G established).
