- The fact that everybody want them does not automatically mean that they are absolutely necessary.
Tell me more about that necessary feature that everybody needs.
Most people need those applications only for the bar threads...Wybrem and aurelpascu24 like this.03-05-16 08:47 AMLike 2 - I agree, but it also doesn't mean they are unnecessary. They give people choice. Tell me how choice is bad...03-05-16 08:56 AMLike 0

You know: BlackBerry10 is not for everybody, it's just an operating system for discerning people.03-05-16 09:13 AMLike 2 -
- I enjoy my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 very much and I was a BlackBerry user for years. I know some here say they hate Android, or hate Apple. That sentiment always makes me laugh. After all, they're just ******* phones, not the keys to the universe. LOL!
"It doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you."
Some one Who is completely frustrated by using said devices and find BlackBerry or what ever devise suits there needs better.
Just for arguments sake. Import an album onto your computer. Now move it into iTunes. Now you have 2 copies of the same file on your computer. Ok now take a media file. And transfer it to a USB thumb drive say it's a mkv file. And watch it on what ever ps4 ,xbox1. What ever. Now put that same thumb drive in an apple computer and watch it. Now take it out and put it back in media player. It won't work now. Thanks apple. Now last test Uninstaller iTunes. And I mean Uninstaller it. Get rid of everything. Good luck with that. I have had mall ware that is easier to get rid of.

- If it is an annoyance, you should not have bought a Priv. As other have said here many many times, you can get better spec for less. Say Moto-X? Why would you buy a phone and one of the key features it has you are annoyed with on top of that you never know it is there if it was never slid up.
Hand the priv to a normal user they think it is a slab, even when you want them to discover the KB, it is hard work trying to get them to find it without just doing it for them.03-15-16 12:43 PMLike 0 -

What I like about BB10 is despite the lack of quality or popular native apps, the device workflow with the hub, peek, flow, menu and button placement suits my personal usage patterns quite nicely. I certainly find it to be the least cumbersome of the mobile platforms.anon(2313227) likes this.03-15-16 02:09 PMLike 1 - 4 months is amazing. I used a pristine unlocked Note 3 my dad gave me to try out on T-Mobile I used for a week. This device has 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal, 800 quad core Qualcomm processor and high res screen. (that was almost completely useless outdoors) I threw in a 32 GB SD card. By today's standards this is mid level Android device. It was operating on Lollipop 5.0. The latest factory build approved by Verizon for the device. (And I believe now the most widely adopted version of Android by OEM standards) I don't really know as Android is an utter mess in regards to which device is running on what version. Blows me away less than 12 percent of devices are on Marshmallow and the "N" version beta is out. (???)
I have an Android tablet but wanted to try Android on a mobile phone to see what the most used mobile OS on the planet is really all about. (My dad likes it. He is retired and uses his phone for news, communication and one email. He bought the Note for me to try)
I was completely unimpressed in almost every way with Lollipop Android vs. BlackBerry 10 for my needs. To preface I run a successful appraisal business and email, txt, BBM, banking, some social media (LinkedIn, FaceBook) and the phone are how I manage and operate via mobility when needed. First off I had to sign into all things Google for Play Store access and Google apps so I did that. (App 1 or 6-7 as the suite of Google apps loads) The litany of updates and upgrades kicked off. (It seems like apps are always updating on Android-why? Is this security related?) I got rid of Touch Wiz and immediately loaded my Nova Launcher Prime (from my tablet experience) to set things up. (app 2 or 8). Then BBM (app 3 or 9) Samsung's stock email client is not very robust but I threw my 4 work emails on it for a couple days as that's what the device comes with and managing them was unorganized and headache. I did some research and found Blue Mail app.(another app) I loaded that and it was better but still no match to BlackBerry 10 native client and importantly the HUB. The stock SMS program was also less than stellar. I researched and loaded Textra (app 10 or 11). The Android notifications, which one can manage, are annoying in stock form so that took some time to configure. Also the reception/radio on the Note and call clarity was no where near as good as any of the BlackBerry 10 devices I own. (Z10, Z30, Passport or Classic)
By now I had @ 10+ apps I had to load for Android just to get it functional and operating to meet my needs. My BlackBerry experience was much different. Sign in with BlackBerry ID, add emails and I am good to go. I admit I am not a very app driven user for my needs. My banking needs are handled via BlackBerry World or Amazon app or Browser. (Wells, USAA, AMX, Chase, and my local bank).
Several things I learned. 1 I am not a fan of larger devices. I own a Passport and I never did get used to its physical form for my daily needs. Same holds true for the Note series with 5.7 in screen. Just too big for day in and day out. 2 Android can work but it takes a lot and Android is NO WHERE near as smooth or lag free as BlackBerry 10. My Classic in all honestly with the SOC many blast for being "old" operates better than the 800 quad core in the Note 3. (Not to mention the 801 in my Passport and how that really flies on BlackBerry 10) Now I know there are newer chips with Hexacore and Octacore in Android Flagships but most don't even utilize all the cores for non-gaming functions. And well I am not a gamer. (Dare I say overkill? Or does Android need all the specs to run smoothly?)
I ultimately learned I will not be trying or buying a BlackBerry Priv on Android for me or my needs. Nor will I consider a G5, S7 or HTC 10. I will faithfully and happily continue to use my Classic with BlackBerry 10 for as long as it continues to operate as well as it does for me and my needs. And I hope beyond all hope BlackBerry does not completely abandon BlackBerry 10. A Classic '16 or '17 operating on BlackBerry 10 would result in an immediate purchase.

Speakers, browser, call clarity, hub, LED notifications, and battery life are outstanding.

1. An app ecosystem. Not just apps, like angry birds, but an entire ecosystem that connects people to the services they use every day, on a mobile device that goes everywhere with them. This is ever evolving largely due to the third party developers.
2. Innovation. Not being afraid to try something new. Cutting edge. Example: Boston Dynamics, now owned by Google, developing advanced robotics systems. It promotes advancement in the market. It supports creativity. Look up the videos on YouTube.
3. Listening to their customers. No further comments needed.
I understand it's not for everyone, nor should it be, but let's give credit where credit is due. If Blackberry fulfills your needs, excellent! Why would you change. Blackberry moving to a more software oriented company might makes them exciting again. But to call other systems crap just as an attempt to boost Blackberry's image is feeble.03-16-16 07:02 AMLike 0 - I suggest to never get an iPhone. Been there and couldn't believe how good the Z30 screen was in daylight. Sold the iPhone right away.Ursus Rufus likes this.03-16-16 11:20 AMLike 1

1. Apps I have less apps on my Classic then my 9810, we are NOT all app junkies.
2. Innovation. Was lost at Blackberry years ago. Using a NON BBOS commerical version is NOT Innovation. They are now just like the iPhone boys "Look we all have the same phone, wow I can operate yours"
3. Listening to their customers. Then the Priv would have BB10 OS as a choice. Because I have used BBOS for many years means I want Android? Never did then WHY now.
If Blackberry were a software company you would think they could put their own software on their own hardware?03-17-16 12:45 AMLike 0
