Kind of nervous to try it as I am already running .77, This may in fact be a downgrade to .66.

Also I checked the VZW site and they have not changed yet, still offering 4.3.0.xx

I am still running 4.3.0.124 and tried to upgrade and the application loader said i am running the most updated software???

although it says clearly that v4.5 is available

i am not sure if it is carrier specific. It is on the bb corporate website under software and devices..

Read my last post though. I am with alltel i wonder if it would work with a different carrier..

Yea I don't know what's up. I went to the downloads section and all the big carriers still say 4.3.. This could mean soon though!!!

It will check any device. If you say you are on BES and go to that screen you can input your PIN and it will check if 4.5 is available for you. Mine comes back that it has not been released by my carrier......grrrr....

I did that bill.. It will download the application loader then have you connect your phone and it will search for updates.. Let us know how it works..

It does not work for AT&T. It says there is no upgrade available after going through the application loader through the link.

I downloaded it and tried to install and just got the "Your device has the most current version......etc." message. I then deleted the vendor XML file and still got the same results.

It's either a downgrade from 4.5.56, or it just doesnt work on Sprint.

mine downloade quickly but i can't find it on my computer doesn't come up on desktop manager, when i go to the blackberry site now the update button is gone help please

are you using IE? they may have changed the site because its not working. What you downloaded is the application loader. if you are able to get the update button back, when you click on it again it will open the app loader up and then try and update.

Again they may have changed the site though so keep checking back and trying...

I have AT&T and the 8310
I had to let active x activate to see the second upgrade button at the bottom of the screen. But I had 4.5.0.55 and it said it had an up grade so well see what the new version is.
I will repost when it finishes with the new OS number

So if you have the latest official AT&T release for the 8310 (4.2), it tells you there is no update. Since you already have 4.5.0.55 manually installed it tells you there IS an update. That is very interesting, I wonder what version you will end up with.

I had the 4.5.0.55 but just the beta now i have the official 4.5.0.55 Now cause it still updated like normal and everything. and I have AT&T
