Because of the way Verizon implements their aGPS function, Google (and probably other 3rd party GPS) will have to rewrite their code. Apparently the new interface is not locked or secret, so the 3rd parties will be able to use it as soon as they can code for it. You can read about it in JRSCCivic's thread in the 8830 forum. I can't get the link to work.
