The New 10.2.1 Update Helps Polish The BlackBerry 10 Experience - N4BB

Article on N4BB about 10.2.1 and Michael Clewley, talking about the features and it was mentioned that 10.3 will be the one to wow everyone.

"Even though the update was chock-full of newness, were told BlackBerry has a lot more planned for their next OS update. Thats when the big guns will be coming out. Michael Clewley was unable to mention specifics, but safe to say BlackBerry has piqued our interest with what were assuming will be 10.3."

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere, but it is interesting and awesome! Interesting because they are basically saying that 10.3 is coming, and that it will be the update that introduces a LOT of TAT features from the sounds of it (which is what we have been hearing on the forums)...it is nice to be reassured that they are going to do the consumer upgrades!

Nothing like drumming up hope, especially if it is well-executed. Really want them to hit it out of the park and get some spark back into things.

Great im looking forward to it!

I really hope they make some changes with active frames.

I have some apps I run consistently and I like to leave them open but the active frame itself is pretty useless to me.

We better have some good leakers, because we sure won't see 10.3 for a long time in the USA. We don't even have 10.2.1 yet.

I like active frames but they should be "Interactive" and I'll be surprised if something like this isn't in 10.3 because so many people have mentioned wanting it! Also with TaT concepts from years ago I would love to see like the ability to pin "interactive" frames and also like a concept they had (I'll post when I get home the video) but basically it was the home screen and you drag out something on top of the screen and then when your done you drag it back. That would be sweet.

Also the eye tracking UI would be sweet!

Nice.... 10.2.1 is great, been using it since .1055 first leaked. Awesome enough to accomplish what's needed and way more. I hope that with 10.3 we get enough attention from the "big apps" so we can all have them native. I would love to see nothing but, no apk's or sideloads. The BlackBerry phone is an amazing device, it deserves tons of new apps.

Hopefully it is something good. It looks like they're focusing on making bb10 easier for bbos subscribers to transition to so I'm hoping they do something impressive. I'm not a fan of how some parts of the UI currently looks..hopefully they take the time to tweak the UI and get rid of some hiccups 10.2.1 has.

Thanks OP, I agree with Mike. As anOS, I think BB10.2.1 is simply a step above the rest. Perhaps not a huge step but it is hard to argue that anything else is better. Anyways, I think this update puts BlackBerry in a great position of really pushing mobile computing forward with the next update. I would, however look beyond TAT to increases in device functionality. There is a real excitement in the air and it is coming from Waterloo.

I know same!!! It looks awesome. And not to the exact same degree but you can see bb10 using that styling to modify the active frames. Maybe that's how they become interactive! You can like hold for a brief moment the active frame and it opens the interactive part similar to velvet. It pops open something you can work with!

Heh, I wanna see Blackberries "big guns" (said in the voices of Beavis and Butthead).

10.3 will have to bring in some new stuff not seen on phones as of yet. Apple lost billions in shares a short while back because they stopped being innovative and just started doing upgrades and styling changes. Blackberry need to make sure they keep bringing new stuff to the table and not just rehash the same old, but without losing their common UI which we all know and love.

It's always the NEXT update with BlackBerry, isn't it? The NEXT one will be THE ONE.

Oh well. I'm not going anywhere. 10.2.1.1925 is great, and 10.3 will I'm sure be even better.

I'm already bracing myself for all the impatient comments asking when to expect a 10.3 leak, and the tantrums of those with an STL100-1, cursing BlackBerry's name.

    I am impressed with 10.2.1
Seems faster than 10.2 and pretty bug free so far. I think it bodes well for the company.

I've heard that 10.3 won't be released till the fall, so if that's the case it better be a really great and big update. Between this time last year and the fall we got 3 updates. I think it would be a big mistake for BlackBerry to slow down right now

To be fair, the "big guns" bit was from N4BB not BlackBerry or any of its employees, and from all my reading I do between the BlackBerry fan sites, N4BB articles are right up there with BerryFlow for being a little on the dramatic side. Makes for fun reading as long as you're realistic with your own expectations.

Man how many updates do you guys expect in a short period of time? Doesn't mean there won't be a few fix releases from 10.2.1.537 till 10.3 either. I think we will be seeing BB10 controlling laptops as slaves. Already was demonstrated. That will blow everyone's mind, along with being super useful.
