Somehow a new folder and file appeared in my Media and My Pictures. The folder is named GBISXNAC01S09 and the file is 1-48-36.png. When I click the latter i just get a black screen with a white box with a rex x in the upper left corner. Anybody know what this is? I have a Curve 8330.

I have the same issue on my BB 9000

I have 3 folders however

GBISXNAC00S02
GBISXNAC00S03
GBISXNAC00S04

each has a PNG file called 1-80-80.png

anyone know what's going on?

It isn't a viruses. Some apps set those folders up as a matter of
course. When I had an 8310 Yahoo Messenger was the culprit.
Usually the folder will have one or two icons that will help identify
which app it is.

Regardless, you can just ignore them.
